GradQuant is dedicated to improving UCR graduate students’ training in quantitative methods. Our mission is to foster interdisciplinary quantitative methods training for UCR graduate students.
We offer training in probability and statistical inference, statistical software and computing, math for statistics, data management, and professional ethics in the management and analysis of data. The educational support ranges from remedial and introductory methods to advanced, specialized training. Graduate students can receive quantitative support via one-on-one consultations with GradQuant staff and via workshops offered by staff and outside statistical experts.
GradQuant now offers drop-in hours for consultations and resources (paper/book resources, laptops equipped with analysis software, electronic whiteboards). For Fall Quarter 2016, drop-in hours take place Wednesdays from 9am-12pm and Thursdays from 12-3pm. No reservations or appointments are necessary, but be sure to bring your student ID card!
Additionally, GradQuant now offers Group Collaboration Space reservations. We offer a large table/work space that can comfortably accommodate up to 8 with a SMARTboard that can be used as a display (with a variety of software installed). The SMARTboard can also be used as an electronic whiteboard to puzzle through conceptual models, graphical displays, and statistical analyses/output. For an individual work space, feel free to reserve one of our work stations that come equipped with either a Macbook Pro or Dell laptop (both with a variety of software installed). Log onto ucr.mywconline.com and select the “GQ Fall 16 Space Reservations” schedule to reserve our collaboration space or work stations.
Before scheduling a consultation, workshop, or space reservation, please review our appointment policies and check out our tutorial for the new appointment system. You can find both of these by clicking the “GradQuant Consultations” tab above.
